Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Treatment
A BPD diagnosis—or even just recognizing yourself in its symptoms—can feel like a lot to hold. Intense emotions, difficulty in relationships, a shifting sense of self: these experiences are real and exhausting, and they're also very treatable. We work with people managing BPD regularly, and we don't see it as something to be feared or minimized.
How we work with BPD
Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) is the most researched approach for BPD, and it's a core part of how our team works with clients managing it. DBT is skills-based: it helps you build concrete tools for regulating intense emotions, tolerating distress without making things harder on yourself, and navigating relationships in ways that feel less overwhelming.
Many clients managing BPD are also navigating depression, anxiety, or a history of difficult relationships, and we work with the whole picture, not just a diagnosis.
Who this is for
This work is often a good fit for adults who relate to:
A BPD diagnosis, or symptoms that feel consistent with one
Emotions that feel intense, fast-moving, or hard to come back down from
Patterns in relationships that feel hard to change on your own
A wish for practical skills alongside a supportive, non-judgmental space to talk
A wish to work on multiple mental health concerns at the same time
In-person and virtual sessions
We offer both individual DBT-informed therapy and support in a group format for clients working on these skills. Sessions are available in person in Aurora and virtually for clients across York Region—including Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, and Markham—and throughout Ontario.
Billing is on a sliding scale with select practitioners; see our Fees page for details.
